For my first-year seminar, I researched tourism in New Orleans. I focused in on the period between the two world wars and looked at how the social changes of this era changed who came to New Orleans and how it was marketed to the public. The social changes highlighted in my project were prohibition, the ban of prostitution, the changing of gender roles, and the examination of race in America. To show my research, I completed a paper, a timeline, and a digital exhibit of photos from New Orleans in this era. Each of these components is displayed under this sector of course work.
